Built for parents on the sideline
Most visitors to a youth club site are parents, and most of them are on a phone in a parking lot. They want the practice time, the field, the weather call and the registration date. They do not want to dig through a news archive. We put those four things where a thumb can reach them and keep everything else one tap away.
Team pages
Each team gets its own page, created from a template so the club looks the same throughout. A team page shows the practice schedule for that team only, game days if you list them, the coaches' first names and a contact route that goes through the club, plus short news posts. Coaches get an editor login that reaches their own team and nothing else. When a season ends, the club admin archives the teams and opens new ones in a few minutes.
- Practice and game times pulled from the club's single schedule list
- Field and gym directions with parking notes and which entrance to use
- Weather and cancellation notices at the top of the team page
- Coach contact through a club form, so personal numbers stay private
- Photos only where the club has consent, and none of players' faces by default
Practice schedules and fields
Clubs share fields, gyms and ice time, and the schedule changes every week. We keep one list of sessions with the team, the time and the location. From that list the site builds a week board for the club, a filtered list on each team page and a per-field view for the people who book the space. If your league or scheduling tool exports a calendar feed, we can read from it instead of typing times twice.
News and club info
Clubs need a place for the things that don't change often: the code of conduct, the volunteer list, tryout info, the board, sponsor thanks and the yearly calendar. We keep these pages short, with one page per topic, so a parent can find the uniform policy without reading the whole history of the club.
Clubs we plan for
Soccer, hockey, basketball, baseball and softball, lacrosse, volleyball, swim and track clubs, plus small leagues and travel teams. A swim club needs groups and pool times; a hockey club needs ice slots that change week to week; a travel team needs tournament weekends. The template stays the same and the details change to fit.
Questions
Our league already gives us a registration platform. Do we need a new site?
Often you keep the platform for registration and payment and use the club site for everything around it: schedules, team pages, directions and news. We link the two so parents move between them without confusion.
Who owns the site when the board changes?
The club does. Domain, hosting and logins sit in the club's name, and we hand over a short guide so the next volunteer can pick it up.
